Cancellation and refund policy: If we cancel a class due to any reason such as teacher
illness, we will make up that class at a later date.
Classes cancelled due to weather will not be made up.
Once classes have begun there will not be any refunds except due to medical reasons.
If you miss a class you can make try to make it up at another location.
Helpful Hints: Please LABEL all dance shoes and belongings. Every year things are left
behind and lost because we can't find the owner. Bring your own water bottle to class
each week. Please do not bring any food or snacks or drinking boxes to class.
Do not approach the teachers between classes with any questions you might have; email
your questions or phone during the week. This is very important in order to allow the
classes to begin and end in a timely manner.
Make sure the youngest dancers have had a chance to use the washroom BEFORE class.
This is good policy every week.
We ask that you do not allow your children to play unattended in the hallway or foyer as
there is a class conducted in the upper hall. Please do not talk in the front entranceway.
Ensure that siblings are not left unattended in the church.
Pick up and Safety: It is extremely important that you arrive promptly for class times, and
promptly when done to pick up your child.
Costume Fees: All dance costumes are the property of The Christian Dance Studio
and will be distributed to the students before the dance concert. All costs will be
discussed with you on a per class basis and are $25.00 for the junior classes and $30 for
senior, in addition to the tuition fees. .
Hair, Attire and Shoes: Purchase a Ballet Bag! Have everything in one place: shoes,
tights, bodysuits, scrunchies, gel, hairspray, bobbypins, hairnets or buncovers, and their
practise skirts, all in one bag. This is a great way to solve the panic of getting everything
together in time for class.
All grades below to school grades.
Hair for Pre-dance to Intermediate Foundations: Hair must be in a neat bun with scrunchie
and a hair net. In order to do this properly the hair should be wet, and gel and hair spray
must be used. Practise at home when time is not an issue -- practise makes perfect! If the
hair is very short, please ensure that a hairband is always worn to class.
Malabar (on Merivale Road) and Brio (on Carling or Bank Street) are two good places to
purchase all your dance class requirements.
Pre-dance/Pre- Primary: There is no dress code so bring your dancer in her favourite
outfit! She will need pink ballet shoes.
Primary/Grade 4: Black short-sleeved or tank bodysuits, pink tights, pink ballet shoes,
scrunchie and hairnet, circle practise skirt. If hair is very short a hairband may be worn to
class.
Intermediate: black short-sleeved or tank bodysuit, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair net,
scrunchie. A dance "cover-up" or leg warmers are to be worm to each class.
Jazz/hip hop and adult class: loose, comfortable clothing, with hair pulled back. Bodysuit
must be worn under t-shirts for all classes. Hip-hop shoes or jazz sneakers are
recommended.
